I had the opportunity to extensively test the Ooni Koda 16 gas pizza oven. Now I would like to tell you something about the stove.

The Ooni Koda pizza oven is available in two versions: the Ooni Koda and the Ooni Koda 16. The “normal” Koda is much smaller than its big brother, the Ooni Koda 16. The two are also quite a bit different in price. The normal Koda only has one burner on the back; the Koda 16 has two burners (one on the back, one on the side) so that the pizza is ready even faster and only has to be turned twice instead of 4. However, both have the same maximum temperature of around 600 degrees, which should be enough for a perfect pizza.

Unboxing Ooni Koda 16:
The pizza oven is delivered very well and sturdily packed. As soon as you open the box, you can tell that this is a high-quality product and that the manufacturer values a nice feeling when unpacking. But see for yourself:
The oven itself is excellent and heavy. You can feel right away that this is a high-quality device. In contrast to the Uuni 3 of that time, a lot has happened regarding material quality! To set it up, only the three metal feet are folded out, then the Ooni stands securely and does not wobble.
On the side is the gas rotary control with which the temperature can be precisely controlled. The pizza stone is massive and large, so that a pizza with a diameter of 35 cm can easily be accommodated here.
Dough preparation: First of all
A good pizza needs a good dough. I got the recipe from my dear neighbor Mr. Jhon.
Put all the ingredients together in a bowl and knead in the Kitchen Aid for 10 minutes. The result is a super fluffy dough. This is then formed into small balls and then has to rest in the refrigerator at + 4 degrees for 48 hours.
Pizza baking :
Now it finally started! The Ooni Koda was properly preheated and then had an internal temperature of about 500 degrees. The stone was about 400 degrees.
Prepared the pizza accordingly. Then it was off to the Ooni.
The pizza was ready in less than 3 minutes. It just looked fabulous! Just as you imagine an original Italian pizza. By the way, it tasted even better than it looked.
My Judgment:
The Ooni Koda 16 is THE device for the ambitious pizza maker and is in no way inferior to a wood-fired pizza oven! The application is very simple, and after a little practice, everyone can conjure up a fabulously good pizza. We loved it and will be spending many more pizza nights with the Koda 16
